John Westcott, an old-time comedian and veteran of the English vaudeville circuit known to show business as Fred Karno, died yesterday at Parkstone, Dorsetshlre. His age was 73. Mr. Westcott, producer of music hall turns and the sponsor of road shows as well as actor, was credited by friends with having helped many young actors get their start, among them Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel.
