On June 8, 1961, after visiting Stan for the first time, Thomas Sefton wrote to him saying, “You and Mrs. Laurel were so kind to receive us as graciously as you did and I want you to know how much we enjoyed our visit with you both. Ben [Chadwell] and I have written to Black Hawk Films in Davenport, Iowa and to Professor McCabe as you suggested. Our children were simply delighted with the Bohemian Girl 8x10’s and clapped with joy when I mentioned that we might have some Laurel and Hardy films of our very own. My very best wishes always to you and Mrs. Laurel.”

Dear Freddie Richards:
Thanks your letter with enclosure of picture. Re the musical numbers in the L&H films, I doubt if there are any recordings of these, can only suggest you Tape record them when they are being run on TV. Pleased to note you liked the L&H book & found it interesting.
Thanks again Freddie for your kind sentiments - much appreciated.
Again my regards & best wishes,
Sincerely as ever:
STAN LAUREL.

There is no improvement in my vision. Doctor says it may get a little better in time but will never fully recover.
